10 missions if you will, each having a winning condition. This is a series of 10 challenges designed with the game mechanics in mind. ![]() ![]() Speaking of, the mini map is definitely a welcome feature for navigating considering that traveling consumes belly! The game play truly shines in this app store gem, adding to it would be the challenge mode. Item lockers allow you to stash items for other characters or for future use they are blue dots on the mini map. There are also small items stores located randomly they are easily noticed on the mini map as purple dots and can contain some sweet items. You must use items that replenish “belly” such as chicken, various potions, haunches of meat, etc. A small hunger monitor referred to as “belly,” keeps track of how hungry you are. The thought of throwing a robe at someone is pretty funny to me. You can throw pretty much anything, even things that have no effect. Item are strewn throughout all 12 floors either dropping off of enemies or hiding in treasure chests. Skills are used via a radial menu, a favorite of mine, just tap your character and tap the spell you wish to cast then where to cast it. Each class has a talent tree that offers many different ways to build your character this is seen in a lot of newer role playing games. Along with the classic role playing theme, there are many fairly new game mechanics implemented. Each class should be pretty familiar if you are accustomed to role playing games. ![]() You begin the game choosing one of three classes the Fairy Wizard, Crusader, or for an additional $.99 the Skellyman Scoundrel. I was only level 13 when I beat his ass and had a load of sweet drops and helpful potions that kept me alive through his onslaught. I will say I was incredibly lucky on my run through with the crusader. It took me a few days of playing different classes and trying different bu ilds to finally take the man down but I did it. “What a complete asshole, I just bought this! Oh well, that was easy enough…,” I say to myself as I now realize my adventure has just begun. Upon doing so it sheds waste all over my brand new steel gauntlet. I’m pretty much freaking out right now because I HATE RATS, I mean Jesus they are fucking gross and ugly and eMinutes later I realize that my flailing arms aren’t doing anything productive so I grab the rat and crush it in my palm. I mean who can say “no” to that!? Upon opening it I am confronted with the screeching attack of a small rat. Ah, I have made it! The hole is dirty, and kind of smells, but this is something that a crusader of my stature must endure to win his fame! I march forward and am suddenly face to face with… TREASURE! Well the only thing that can really distract me from my quest would be the angelic shimmer of a good old fashion unlocked treasure chest. ![]() Their reply is a groan, “Ugh… the Bandit Hole you goon, NOW BEGONE!!!” Who would have known that a simple bandit hole would lead to Satan himself!? I sure didn’t, but my quest to be the best Crusader in the world can’t be distracted by such a conundrum! My first focus is to decide how exactly to take on this hole! I mean should I ease into it? Maybe do a quick in and out? I could just dive in head first? This decision haunts me so I end up just taking the stairs. “So wait… how do I get to Satan’s place again?” I gently asked. Game: 100 Rogues Developer: Dinofarm Games Publisher: Fusion Reactions Platform: iPhone OS Genre: RPG/Roguelike Price: 1.99 By Stephen Spampinato -Īfter meeting with the unenthused High Council, they have appointed me the task of… killing Satan!! Pretty epic eh? I of course accepted this task, but I needed a little guidance.
